Hi everyone,

About three weeks ago, I bought a new smartphone, a Huawei P8 Lite. Last week, I updated it to the new EMUI 4.0 (ALE-L21C432B564). I suddenly noticed how fast the battery was draining, when I looked at the enery info, it said the hardware was using about 84 percent, more specifically, the screen was responsible for this. The screen is sometimes even using 70+ percent. I already cleaned the device cache via the reboot menu, but it solved nothing. Has anyone an idea how to solve this? Maybe I have to downgrade again? On another smartphone (Y560), I installed Cyanogenmod, my battery on that one currently has more than 14(!) days to go... Unfortunattely, there is no Cyanogenmod for the P8 Lite at this moment...

Thanks in advance!!

Welcome to Android Central! How much total screen-on time do you get on a full charge?

Thanks for your reply! Now on 11 percent battery left, screen-on time was 3h21. My battery manager says I still can use my phone for approx. 16h51 minutes, however, the chart is really steep downwards, so it is not very realistic. Someone recommended me to perform a hard reset. Maybe that is the best option for now, I will let know when it had a positive influence on the battery!

Thanks again for your reply, I will stay in touch!

Do you remember what your screen-on time typically was before the update?

The phone seems to be awake a lot, which could be contributing to battery usage. Try using an app like GSam Battery Monitor to see which apps are keeping the phone awake.
