Hi. Hoping someone has an idea what may be causing my issue.

I have a GS3 GT-I9300 (International Sim Free). I purchased this phone a year ago and, to be honest, I've never been particularly happy with how long the battery lasts. Recently however this has become a really big issue and the battery was running dead only 10 hours after a full charge with very little usage. A few days ago I fully charged (100%) my battery and powered OFF the phone. Yesterday morning I powered on the phone and the battery was down to 78% - how is this possible if the phone was powered OFF the whole time? At first I thought a battery fault, but surely not, it's only a year old! Last night I fully charged the battery again (100%), powered OFF the phone and REMOVED the battery. This morning I re-inserted the battery and powered on the phone - the battery was at 99%!

So, it would appear the battery is not at fault and my GS3 is somehow draining the battery even though the phone is powered OFF! Just to clarify, this phone is in MINT condition, has never been damaged or subject to any moisture / water damage. Any help would be appreciated.

It appears to me that it's a bad battery. It seems your battery can't hold a charge. I would suggest you try a different battery.

Seconded!

That was my initial thought, however the battery holds a charge if I leave it out of the phone for say 24 hours, the battery only drains when it is in the phone, even when the phone is completey powered OFF. It's as if the phone is drawing power from the battery even though it's off. It certainly has me baffled

Well, at a high level there are only two parts here: the battery and the phone. If you're certain that the battery is not the problem then there's something wrong with the phone. Time to get it replaced/repaired.
