Battery Drain

The last couple of weeks, and especially the last 3 or 4 days, my battery is going from full charge to 40% in 4-5 hours. And I'm not really even using it at that time. It's just sitting on my desk, where I get the rare call or text message.

Anybody else having this recently or know of a fix?

You might need a new battery. Check all your social apps first and see what your notification settings are at. Every hour is better than every 5mn for your battery. Also if your not using GPS, turn it off. And last if your flashing Rome you'll have to recalibrate your batt stats.

Could be a cell phone tower problem, causing your radio to search harder for a signal.

Otherwise, every once in while, my phone does this and a battery pull (as opposed to just turning it off/on) always fixes it. I think it's happened maybe 2 or 3 times. I suspect that some app gets in a bad state and draws too much power.

We had tower issues at a tower near our headquarters. Every VZW phone was draining very quickly. Phones dead within a few hours.
Called Government support, the found the tower problem and fixed it.
