Battery Drain

My dad's G6 battery drained down by 28% in an 11 hour period, screen off over night. Is this normal? My Note 4 only loses about 6-8%. He is with Verizon. I disabled a few things and turned off notifications on a few things to see if that helps but does anyone have any ideas what's up with that. He's only installed 3 apps plus there is the bloatware, some of which I disabled, messages+, NFL, VZ Navigator, caller ID. Thanks.

Did you go to the battery usage and see what app may be causing the drain ?

Does he have always on display at the higher brightness setting by chance? At default, it uses very little power, but at the high brightness mode it can whack a good 1% to 2% per hour.

I don't think so but where would I check. Auto brightness is off and slider is set below 50%.screen time off at 2 minutes.

Look in the always on display settings, right under the brightness setting.

OK I know what always on display is now but it has been turned off so that's not the culprit.

Wifi shouldn't drain the battery like that I wouldn't think unless there is a particular setting enabled with it that does.

My experience has been that even when a specific app is not indicated as a big battery user, a specific app is usually still the culprit, rather than overall settings like AOD or wifi. Usually it's because the app is either using a lot of wakelocks (preventing the phone from sleeping) or alarms (waking it up excessively). Tracking these down can be a pain for the average user or rewarding for a power user. Better Battery Stats or Wakelock Detector can give you a lot of info even without root (though you will need to use an adb command to enable them to see the necessary stats from the OS).

Check the battery usage for phone idle. LG keeps selling phones that consume significantly more battery in phone idle than other brands. They won't do anything to fix it either. it's on the V10, V20 and G6. Everyone complains about battery life. I'm complaining specifically about their Android version customizations for their hardware. I'm not buying any more LG phones. 5 bootloops and this phone idle mess. Buy something from anyone who cares.

Apparently many people have a battery life issue, they complain about it, but have just learned to live with it, and don't try to get improvements made by LG for their phones.
