I have had the one plus 7 pro 5g since the 30th may and the battery had been excellent leaving me with about 25% at bedtime. However over the last few days it has been draining really fast to the point that as I type this at 6pm with very little use during the day its currently at 22%. Has anyone else noticed this? I looked at apps that had been updated recently but they don't seem to be culprits. The biggest iss of the battery is Google play services. Is this normal?

Post a screenshot of your battery stats, and stop draining your battery so low every day and then act surprised when it begins to fail quickly.
I'm sorry but some people don't have access to a charger during the day. I don't think letting my battery drain over the course of the day is the problem. it turned out that the screen protector was damaged at the bottom and since it has been removed everything is back to normal.

The phones been out about 10 days? It's advertised as having the most advanced screen they've ever used. And it was brought to its knees by a mysterious screen protector. Give some details. How about that battery Stat screenshot? It may show hundreds of accidental touches or something. Is this the 12 gig version?
what's with the attitude method Man? I don't take screenshots of battery stats, frankly I don't have time. it was a simple question as to whether anyone else had experienced drain. but it's all sorted now. thanks for your concern!
Letting the battery continuously drain all the way down to zero will limit its lifespan, but but I think telling someone they shouldn't use the last 25 or 30 percent of their battery is garbage advice.
That said, I wonder if OP doesn't use the best quality batteries in their devices. Every phone I've owned from them experienced a noticeable decline in battery performance at around 6 months. Right in line with their new device release cycle. Hmmm...

So is draining the battery bad or fully charging it bad? Unless you keep your phone 3 years it doesn't matter. Fake news.

You're both basically wrong in your respective ways, but you can get away with the lithium ion abuse for a short time. This is science, not subjective opinion or some anectote about how your friend Joes phone lasts forever left charging 24/7.
Like I said in the long run yes. But most people change phones within 12 to 18 months. Charging full or to letting it go to zero will not ruin your phone if you switch often.

A big reason many people switch to a new phone is the diminishing performance, some of which is directly related to the battery abuse result. A self fulfilling prophecy, or its just a good excuse to buy the next new phone. Going to zero is no bueno. Google it and read how and why.
