Battery drainage from google services?

Im experiencing battery drianage from google services. https://db.tt/RxlH9CiU as u can see. I would discharge my phone from 100 percent while im using it itll drain 5-10 percent in 30 minutes i go to look at the battery usage and i see google services using the most along with android system

Turn off location services. It's probably the most common wakelock out there, don't know why it hasn't been fixed by Google

The phone is fine while idle but when i use it like texting and webbrowsing it seems to drain alot and screen display is at 50 and not at the top of battery use nor webbrowser

The drain is from Google services not letting the phone sleep, that's why it says "Keep Awake 5H 59 Minutes." Rebooting usually fixes the issue, same thing happened to me this morning but with Lookout instead of Google Services

You can have GPS turned off and Google services on. They make money off of collecting and selling your information, so they love when you keep it on. Its also one way they tailor ads to an individual, based off of location, like a restaurant ad. At least that's how I understand it. I make sure GPS\services is only on when I need it and then it gets turned right back off.

See what's being synced under your Google account in settngs. Based on your pic, contacts and bookmarks are syncing up so there is a good chance that everything is checked. Google apps syncing constantly will drain any battery. Do you use Google+? If you do, shut off auto backup.Shut off location reporting in Maps too.

Disable any bloatware that is not needed and grab Wakelock Detector from the store and see what's keeping the phone awake.

Go into Apps, Google Settings, Location, and uncheck Access location. This is different then the Location access in your general setting on your phone (which I tested, and does not cause battery drain).

If you have a routine in the way you use your phone, please consider installing Qualcomm battery guru, it is AMAZING, it takes 2 days to learn how you use your phone and then it works well towards saving your batteries. (got 20% increase with it)

Disabling google location helped a ton with battery life. I just turn on GPS when I use navigation or looking for a near by store/restaurant.

won't this disable location / navigation on Google maps? I tried this setting the other day and I believe that turn by turn navigation wouldn't work unless I turned it back on.

Yes, but you are looking to save battery? Just turn it on when you need to navigate.

You mind posting a screenshot of your battery stats? It makes a difference depending on what else is using your battery

I have disabled IQ and now have stopped all Google programs except the store and my Google search. What is Google bookmarks sync? I notice much more drain when I'm on WiFi.

I read on ac about a Google services outage. Is my phone searching for something and draining dye to this? I do crap with Google plus and hangouts...wish I could delete

Actually, on the AT&T phone, the biggest wakelock out there is the Carrier IQ service. I don't often have battery drain issues relating to location services. I love me some Google Now.
