battery draining a little fast

im rooted, running stock rom(but have done quite a bit of flashing lately). i installed gsam and when i look at the apps, aside from songpop, it says the kernel is using the most. what can i do to regain the battery life i had? i was getting 30 hrs prior to rooting and flashing roms

3:40 and 48 min screen time, im at 85%

or maybe im just over reacting and there is nothing wrong with that.
