Battery Extending Tips

I love having a phone that can go all day without being charged, but I talk to some people that have them and are getting a day and half out of their batteries. I'm guessing that I'm doing/not doing something that is consuming more battery that necessary.

So, what are some of the things that you do to make your Maxx go even farther than it already does? Apps, disabling apps, Smart Actions?

Thanks,
Jake

Check to see if you have location services on all the time. Are you using push/Fetch email a lot meaning getting notifications frequently? Do you have GPS or WI FI on when not using them? Of course location based apps when you don't need them to be on will drain your battery also. You need to go through and check all of these including your screen brightness and make sure it is on Auto. Good luck. :)

Thanks for the help!

I have GPS on all the time because I use it to trigger some location based Smart Actions. I have attempted to disable any other location based services that are tied to apps, but I suspect that there might be some that I don't know about.

I do have push set up on my email, so I might dial that back a little. Wifi is only on when Smart actions turns it on at my apartment. Screen brightness is on auto.

I suspect that Cell and Network signal issues are contributing a lot, but there really isn't too much that I can do about that.

I've been using GSAM Battery Monitor for the past few days and it looks like my Podcast app Beyond Pod is waking my phone up quite a bit, so I'm looking for a better app to replace it.

I would have to say that you shouldn't worry about your battery life for anymore than a full days usage. These batteries will not get harmed by charging them for short periods of time or long periods of time. If you plug your phone in when you sleep than you will always wake up to a full charge ready for the entire day. You now don't have to worry about a charger at all.
