Battery from 50% to dead instantly

Yesterday I was minding my own business listening to some music when suddenly the music stopped, I thought I?d got to that 30 minutes thing where you have to start the music again.

But no????? the phone had died. When I eventually got to plug it in I found that the battery was dead flat, it had gone from 50% to 0% in an instant!!!

Is this a known issue or am I just unlucky?

I have heard of this before, But I cannot recall if there was a fix for it. It may be one of those 'It just happens sometimes.' I had a severe drop one time with my S3. Not 50%, but significant enough. I would just keep going like normal, if it happens again, speak up. Tell us what you were doing at the time.
