Here is the part number 35H00142-09M I'll post pics in a minute. The original is part number 35H00142-08M. The are both claiming to be OEM HTC 1400 man batteries. The original is made by Guangzhou TWS Electronics Limited. And the new suspect is made by Techcharm Electronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

Vendors almost never "make" their own batteries. They almost always contract with third party vendors to supply the batteries to their specs, under the original vendors' (i.e. HTC's) logo. Often multiple vendors for batteries. Routine stuff.

Having said that...

You have to pay attention if the battery advertises OEM or not. Often they will say "OEM Replacement" - that is NOT OEM. It is a "replacement" for OEM. I bought two "OEM" HTC batteries for my TBolt originally OEM for the HTC Merge (1500mAh). They work great. OEM too :) But not OEM for the TBolt. You gotta read carefully. In actuality, it rarely makes any difference if they are knock-offs or not.

The listing does not claim to be an OEM battery nor does it look like an OEM battery. Also, I use Amazon to buy almost everything and I tend to follow one key rule. I never order anything that's not Shipped and Sold by Amazon. The item in question appears to be sold by a third party but shipped by Amazon. However, this isn't Amazon's stock so I would avoid it if it's an item such as a battery or headset.

It does say OEM and looks identical to my original OEM ThundeeBolt Battery. I agree with Frank. Deep down I know it doesn't usually matter at all a battery is a battery but these are in fact original batteries. Check the other battery thread to see what I mean.

Where's the link to the battery? When I searched amazon for your part number, the one I found did not say OEM anywhere on the listing.

Okay the listing said OEM now it just says standard but the part no is that of my original battery and not the part number the sent me as you can see in the pic

Hmm, sure looks like an OEM battery since it has the big HTC logo on it. I just pulled my battery out of the box, I have the Guangzho one. I'd check my extended battery but I dont feel like pulling of my case and powering down and all that.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking it looks authentic a little different build. I'm gonna put them to the test. The original lasted about 4? hours with continuous use. We'll see how these new ones do. Also I'm going to keep a close eye on temperature.
