Battery issue or something else?

Samsung service does not seem to be the best from other reports about weird answer to pretty much standard questions...

I've been dealing with Samsung for years. Just like anyone, you get a bad rep on the phone sometimes. When that happens, generally asking for a supervisor and getting one, takes care of that.

Now I'm REALLY stumped. I left the tablet on all day, WIFI enabled. I left at 8:30, got home at 4:30. Only 3% battery lost. I used it and there was normal behavior. No screen flickering, lag...nothing. Idk what to do.

I was also experiencing drain while off, so I'll turn it off overnight and see what happens. Smh...strange behavior from this thing. This is the first real issue in almost 2 years, but its a doozie.

Weirdest thing. The chat agent said this model (SMP600) doesn't have a replaceable battery. Only a factory reset can fix the problem.

Ya they dont really want you to replace the battery. Its a pretty "tender" process to do it, and does require someone good with their hands in delicate situations. They probably told you that for precautionary liabity issues.

My husband, very mechanically enabled, was able to do it. I dont think I alone would have been able to. I am more technically enabled as in software , OS's, etc. Together we are a pretty good team. He has replaced device screens. KBs etc for me, I have done total factory resets on his windows devices, which required full data backups, and full feel for how to properly reformat and re install an OS. ( particularly a winblows system, with file associations, drivers and all the crap that goes with winblows :) guess we are a pretty good team.)

No drain while off since last night. After weeks of awful battery life, battery drain while off, and going completely crazy on Sunday, it seems to have corrected itself. I have no idea what happened, but I hope it sticks.
