I set out on a ride on my hulybrid bike this morning. Phone was at 45% I turned off the data and WiFi but have location on and a sports app Endomondo running to record my distance. 1.5 hrs later it was down to 10%, then at home dropped to 3 % quickly and shut off. I plugged it into my Samsung fast charge portable charger and instantly it was showing 27%. Wondering if this means my battery is starting to go? It seems fine during normal daytime with data on and auto sync. It seems when I run that endomondo app on the phone it'll drop quicker, but the odd thing was 3%, died, plugged into fast charger and instantly 25%.

You're right, that could be a sign of a deteriorating battery. Under normal use, when it's down to single digits, does it always jump up to 25% as soon as you plug it in? Or is it only in this situation?

I've never seen any of my phones do that. Well the note 4 did and when I replaced it's battery that was resolved.

Could be a rouge app too. Safe mode is always a good route to go. If not doing the same things in safe mode, then it'd a bad app. If it's doing the same things in safe mode, then it's a hardware issue.

Also, try powering of the phone, plug it in, then turn it on while plugged in. I find that can reset the battery charge tracking on some Galaxy devices.
