Battery life difference on 3g

So I had been in an area with no 3g for a week an got pretty good batty life. What is the difference on 4g? Like 6 hrs of battery instead of 9 or is it worse than that?

Its not that bad for me. Coming from the Thunderbolt I was getting terrible battery life before rooting. On an average day, I unplug at 6am and plug back in around 6-7pm that evening. I am in 4G area where I live and at work so always in 4G. My phone usually has around 30% left but I'm not a HEAVY user. I sent texts, play a little bit of words with friends, and prob talk a total of an hour, sometimes a little more. Display is usually off since I do plumbing and have no need to be looking at my phone all the time.
