Battery Life discussion thread.

So, yesterday, I decided to try my device at 60 hertz. I took it off the charger at around 9am and 24+ hrs later, I am at 10%, and about to put it back on the charger. I also got a SoT of 7.75 hrs. I love this kind of battery life and it looks like I'll have to hold off on the 120htz display until there's some kind of stability update for the battery.

EDIT: for some reason this didn't post when I thought I posted it.

Just to give some comparison, this was what I was getting just 4 days prior to my change.

I’ve decided to just use the phone as I want to even if it means less battery life. I don’t want to need to switch things off to enjoy this phone so AOD is back on and system back to automatic with Dark mode on from 17:00

I have stopped looking at battery usage etc. as I have an average SoT figure of between 10.30 and 10.50 for a while now, obviously that's the average calculated, I haven't actually sat and stared at my screen for 10 hours but this is as good as my Note 10 plus 5G was

One of the best battery tips I was given years ago was to turn Off the battery % sign in the Status Bar so your not drawn to it, and just enjoy the phone.

Don't get me wrong I do use some battery saving tips but I refuse to dumb down a phone by turning off features I want just to be able to squeeze it for more screen on time.

Here's my latest - mind you, my usage was very low this time but it seemed to go forever, time/day-wise!

Also, I've decided for the first time in my Note (hell, Android) history (>15 years) to start actually exercising my battery! Duh! I have always been one of those "just throw it on the charger whether it really need it or not" types, just to get it topped off... ALWAYS! Sacrilege, I know... but that's always been me! Since we started keeping track of the battery usage on these new Note 20 Ultra's, I said "That's it, I'm going to start running this thing down 'til it NEEDS a charge, THEN charge it! It's not too difficult either... don't know why it took me FIFTEEN years???

Here's my question, I've been using my Note 9 wireless pad (45w) OR my trucks USB cable to recharge most of the time and, from 25 -35% starting point to 100%, it's been taking 4 t0 5 hours!!! This morning I sat down for my first cup of coffee at 8:15 AM at the Kitchen Island and noticed the phone was at 21%... yikes! I had stuff to do so I remembered I had the wall charger and cable (25w) that came with the Note20 Ultra, sitting in a basket right next to me. I grabbed it, plugged it into one of the island side outlets and continued on. I did about 15 minutes of stuff and put it down and switched to my SurfacePro. At 9:20AM, it was at 100%... wth??? How can the 25w charger crank the thing up that quickly???

NOTE: I think it was 10:20AM, not 9:20AM, when I took it off the charger - sorry! Testing again this morning! 9/18

On utube, SAKITECH posted a hack that a viewer recommended. It's a bixby hack that pushes battery to medium whilst still keeping 120mhz adaptive feature toggled. I'm actually getting slightly longer battery times now finally.

That's amazing!

Sakitech probably got it from here, same as most his stuff is robbed directly from other YouTubers lol

I never did like his videos. It's not anyone thing, but mostly a combination of his late posts, uninviting production and quality, and his info always seemed to be inaccurate or at least inconsistent. I tried to stick with his channel for a while, but then I realized I was wasting my time because I was getting more thorough info and more appealing quality videos, from other channels.

But to each their own.

I'll take a passing look at his videos but most of them just are repairing themselves when a new phone is released

Gets clicks i assume ! ;)

Not really a fan either tbh!
