Just got off the phone with Samsung Tech support.

Asked the samsung tech dude. That I have never been told by anybody that sells a samsung phone. About charging the samsung phone.
If it hurts it to let the phone run down to say 70% and recharging the phone.

He said He sees I have the Note Ultra phone 5G universal unlocked.
I said correct.
He said he sees he sees I had a note 10+ 256 GB phone.

I said yes.

He said that it does not hurt the phone battery what so ever to run the phone to 70% and sticking it back on the charger.
So where ever you are hearing this that they are misinformed.

He said the way. the phone is setup. He would suggest that you DO NOT RUN YOUR PHONE BELOW 10% and recharging it.
Its hard on the phone.

He explained to me also. That they didn't come out with a 256GB phone. Was because they couldn't get the highest quality parts to put in the phone to meet the standards that they want for their phones.
He is sorry.

So don't say it hurts your phone to run it to 70% and putting it back on charge.

They went with 128gb because they got away with it for the S20 Ultra and because it's cheaper....

4 years working for Verizon and working closely with Samsung representing them both I learned otherwise. Numerous people from both Verizon and Samsung have told me it's bad for the batteries to keep them fully charged regularly just as it's bad to let them drain completely.

I was witness to the majority of our demo phones splitting open and pushing the screen out because the batteries swelled up leaving them plugged into our security system 24/7. Our security system provided a constant charge keeping the phones at 100%

I probably sold and activated over a 1000 phones, all but a few of them came with a half charged battery ranging from 40 to 60%. I was taught this was to preserve battery health as it's bad for a battery to sit long term dead or fully charged.

I don't worry about it much, still charge my phones to 100% but I also refuse to leave them on a charger over night.

Is who I talked to..

when I was at Verizon. And Best Buy.
They had the people from Samsung at Best Buy.
The Samsung people at Best Buy could blow everybody away about what they knew about their products.

Those people are very limited what they know , you might get one that really knows their stuff by luck but won't be there long lol moves on something better.

Dude in tech support sounded like he knew about everything to me.
He explained everything to me.
Too much to reply herevon.

It's interesting to read what people's thoughts and opinions are in regards to charging and discharging a phone's battery.

Personally I do not let my battery go below 15% and charge it to 100% and I top it up when and where needed.

I turn my phone Off at night and charge it on a Samsung Official Desktop charger as i believe it's all clever enough to know when to stop charging and then trickle charge.

I very rarely need to use fast charging unless it needs a quick boost.

Based on profit margin I would say .... But can be twisted as consumer research by Samsung PR
I meant research on how much memory people use and how much they are willing to pay to get more. Yes profit margin is involved in the equation because they pay a lot less for memory than they charge for it.

Yeah pretty much the same but I do use my phone for the alarm so it stays on, then 1st thing I do in the morning is put it on normal charge before work. I don't normally let it go much lower than 30-40%

I use the oem desktop at night too. I realize that discharging to no lower than 30 and no more than 80 is optimal but honestly I'm not going to take the time to manage and monitor a phone's charging. I assume that 15w stand is smart enough to not materially degrade the battery performance during my one to two year use of the device.

Think the guy is full of it lol....256GB is base in UK and it’s likely to do with the processor.
