Two full days and it's just now about to go on the charger.

Coming from a Note 5, my Note 8 battery life is far superior. Actually makes me think my N5 had a failed battery from the beginning. It was my first android phone so I didn’t know any different but I rarely got over 2 hours SOT. Note 8 easily gets 4 and last well through the day for me.

I think SOT should avg minimum 6 hrs... The other day with heavy use I had 6hr and still had 30% left to go... So i think it'll fluctuate but should at least get 6hrs and up

That's interesting. I had a Note 5 in 2015 and returned it to TMo because of idle drain. Because it's now on Nougat, I just picked another one up on Swappa (in almost new condition). Last night I left it unplugged on my nightstand and it burned through 2.5% per hour. Went from 100% to 86% just doing normal syncing overnight. Yet the mAh usage in the battery screen indicates it only used about 200 mAh uot of 3000. Doesn't make a lot of sense. Were you on Tmo per chance?

No, I'm on Verizon. Idle drain was definitely the problem. I don't get the best signal at my house but even when I traveled to areas with excellent signal I had the same problem.

my note 5 got to the point with me where the battery would just drain out . my wife's s7 had the same size battery an was much better. my n8 has been a beast

Really impressive. Exynos processor right? They say in past phones they are much more efficient than SnapDragons... from what I read about an hour better.

What level do you have your screen brightness at? Are you at default display setting or full resolution?
Manual brightness. I keep it around 40%. I also set it to Medium power saver just for the CPU limiter, as I don’t need full performance all the time and have it set to FHD+.

Quite honestly, I’m chuffed as my battery performance with no power saving modes at all in QHD+ isn’t far off what’s here. 5.5 hours average is what I would get. Best I’ve gotten was nearly 6.

And yes, it’s an Exynos

What is your brightness setting at? Also display resolution?

Mine has been... 'OK.'

Last night played with it more... I moved resolution to max, I've moved brightness from about 75% to 50% and I think it's bright enough at that level.

I've also finally played with BK Disabler last night more and disabled more bloatware like Samsung Health that had about 70+ services attached to it and other stuff that might be running in background like AT&T smart wifi and other things I didn't need like DriverMode, DirecTV apps, etc and only been overnight but battery drain seems to have improved.

Disabled any of the Bloatware if your carrier have any?

First week i ran it in high performace mode with just bluetooth and location switced off and I averaged about 6 hours sot since then I switched to next level down and are seeing nearly 5 hours of sot with 50% battery left, it's a European unlocked non-carrier, exynos dual sim

I've been using AccuBattery to monitor mine (AT&T US).. so far

My Note 5 was exactly the same way. I could leave it at home with a 100% charge and come back at 6 PM and the battery would be at 30% with no usage. I fixed it by rooting and installing a custom ROM.

Anyways, my Note 8 is much better on battery life. I average 5-6 hrs on 24+ hrs standby.

Mine was really impressive until yesterday. I can't pinpoint it and I didn't take any screenshots but by lunch time I felt like it wasn't as full as it usually is by then. Last night it was around 50% when I went to sleep and plugged it in. Sometime I the night the charger came unplugged???? And was at 22% in the morning.

Not sure how accurate this is now.

That last drain after it came unplugged was while I was sleeping. Pretty significant for just sitting there.
