Battery Life Seems To Be Getting Better

Really impressive. Exynos processor right? They say in past phones they are much more efficient than SnapDragons... from what I read about an hour better.

What level do you have your screen brightness at? Are you at default display setting or full resolution?
What settings do you have yours on to give you that battery life? Mine gives me about 5hrs SOT. Do you use Location services at all?

hello all
i want to ask how your note 8 can stay more than 13 hours with 1 charge
i usually charge it every night.
i have the data open when im out and wifi always on but it drains a lot of battery.
in one hour without doing something it spends like 8 %
Some SS

Coming from a Note 5, my Note 8 battery life is far superior. Actually makes me think my N5 had a failed battery from the beginning. It was my first android phone so I didn’t know any different but I rarely got over 2 hours SOT. Note 8 easily gets 4 and last well through the day for me.

I too had a Note 5 (not my first Android phone) and the battery was horrendous! The Note 8 is waaaay better. I only need to charge every other day and I'm doing more than I used to do with the Note 5. I know the N8 is new right now and battery performance dips as the phone ages but my N5 never had good battery performance since day 1.

Also remember that it takes a few charge-discharge cycles for new LiIon cells to reach their full capacity.

Don't EVER let a lithium ion battery completely discharge. If you do, you'll risk not getting it to charge again or at the very least take some long term life out of it. I'd only let it get down to no lower than 10% but lithium ion doesn't require cycling to make them retain full capacity, anyway. That was how it was way back when with ni-cad and nickel metal hydride but those were completely different chemistries.

I'm hearing more and more about other people's note 5 battery issues, I'm glad it wasn't just me. I returned my first note 5 because it would drain about 20 - 25% overnight then my replacement was the same I just learned to live with it because I loved everything else about the phone. Now that I have the note 8 I'm realizing how flawed that battery was. My note 8 drains between 5 - 10% at the most overnight just depends how much I sleep.

My roommate and her sister had the N5. The battery life was terrible. My N8 rocks..I used it as our Christmas music player and it barely sipped at my battery.

This.. is excellent battery life
Well it's actually gotten even better.. Been on the phone with texting and a 30 min or more Bluetooth phone call. Also have always on On.

The other day I left my phone at home and when I got back home 14 hours later it was on 90 or 92%. That's with wifi always on and wifi calling on with 90-105dB network signal.

13 hour total @ 63% battery life, how many hours of OST? Don't look to good here.

What is your brightness setting at? Also display resolution?

Mine has been... 'OK.'

Last night played with it more... I moved resolution to max, I've moved brightness from about 75% to 50% and I think it's bright enough at that level.

I've also finally played with BK Disabler last night more and disabled more bloatware like Samsung Health that had about 70+ services attached to it and other stuff that might be running in background like AT&T smart wifi and other things I didn't need like DriverMode, DirecTV apps, etc and only been overnight but battery drain seems to have improved.

what is BK disabler?? I just got the phone and would love to find a way to get more life out of the battery, yesterday was my first day with it on a full charge and went from 5:30am to 11:30pm 4 hours of screen on time, AOD on for majority of the time, and it was at about 35% or so before I put it on the wireless charger
