I love my Nexus 6, I really do....the screen is amazing, the size is perfect, the performance is snappy and very nimble! That being said, the battery life on this device can be described as abysmal at best..... I was hoping that the doze feature in Marshmallow would really make a huge different, but to be completely honest, I see very little improvement......some, but not to much to speak of. Mind you, I am not what you would call a heavy or a power user by any stretch of the imagination, I use it for sending maybe a few text messages a day ...a few phone calls, maybe check the weather, a Facebook post or two once in a while....that's about it, I rarely do any streaming video or audio either or use the camera that much! But I am lucky to get a day to a day and a half battery out of my Nexus 6. I also have a Nexus 7 2013 tablet, and while the battery life on that was just okay before the update of Marshmallow, but since the update it has been fantastic! I was really hoping for something close to that for my Nexus 6.....So, am I doing something wrong, or do other Nexus 6 users have the same experience as me? Post your thoughts on your battery life since Marshmallow!

I normally get 5 hours of screen time so that's pretty darn good. Do you leave GPS on all of the time? Did you look to see what the top 5 battery users are?

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I see no difference at all and get about 3 hours screen time if I'm lucky. Currently on 68% with only 38min screen time. I'm sure it's an app cos my wife's is brilliant but I can't work out what

I probably got about a 25% bump... I'm quite pleased with the improvements. There are even some kernel improvements that reduced the amount of power consumed when I'm using the phone (guessing graphical improvements with the GPU/Drivers).

Thanks for the input, and I did check the location service and I swore I had it stopped but it was enabled! Not to sure if the upgrade activated it when I installed it or not, but thanks and I did shut it off....I also noticed Skype as being at 7% use, and I just uninstalled it as well because I never really use Skype on my phone....hopefully theses changes will make a difference..... Thanks again!

That's....not.....good.....

My battery life improved a lot when i didn't use my screen a lot! I was quite impressed!
Until battery swelling.

I currently have a Nexus 7 2013, and I'm thinking of replacing it and my current phone with a Nexus 6. What would I lose for the much better specs?

77% now after coming off charge this morning. 23min screen time. Just checking with my old N4 which I might use for testing. That's lost 10% between 7.30am and 6.30pm and it's not been touched, screen off nobody home. Not sure what that's like buy might wipe it and test then slowly add apps back in.

That is weird. Most posts I see battery on n6 improved dramatically. For me it definitely has. If for you it hasn't then I recommend a fresh install or hard reset now that you have the 6.0 update. That should help.

Google should just keep any battery improvement claims to themselves. With every Android update, some folks are gonna claim their battery is better, and some are gonna say it's worse, no matter what. Google just makes it worse by assigning snazzy terms like "project volta" or "doze" to the improvements they make, so people expect miracles...

Anyway, Doze doesn't do anything unless your device is completely idle and motionless for extended periods of time, so I'm not expecting anything out of it in my case.

My battery life improved dramatically after the update, but I was having some terrible battery drain issues under 5.1.1.

Averaging 23 hrs with 4 to 5 hrs screen on time. Battery life is great. Running high accuracy, I am mostly on WiFi most of the time.

Went from very good to more very good. Doze doesn't do a whole lot on phones unless your phone sits somewhere unused for extended periods of time. Some kernel improvements made it better and Doze makes it idle better at night and when it's hanging out on my desk at work not doing much.

Think mine is standby related. Using it hard today and got about 3hrs SOT with it hitting about 30%
