Battery life tanked after Lollipop

My update went pretty smooth with the only issue being the Wi-Fi calling not enabling. Battery was fine, if not better and the thing ran so smooth. For some reason, because I had everything backed up anticipating a factory reset, I went ahead with it. Kind of a pain re installing everything and losing game data on a couple games but nothing compared to the issues I'm having now. Not only is the Wifi calling still an issue, Wi-Fi it self keeps shutting off. I also can't seem to send any picture messages. Also battery seems to be draining a little faster. What a mess. Should have left it alone

I am having wifi calling and battery issues too. Also noticed glitchyness in the lg smart tips screen. I am with tmobile btw.

Anything that is google and uses wifi is borked right now. I hadn't paid much attention to my battery until I saw this thread today. I've spent an hour or so on twitter, streamed radio on the way to the office for about half an hour over bluetooth to an external speaker, and made a few short phone calls. That's far less usage than my typical day, but I've been sick. I took it off the charger around 6.5-7 hours ago and it is at 49%.

I wiped and re-installed everything from scratch over the weekend. I didn't backup anything, and when Google asked if they could restore my apps and settings, I said no. So it was a clean slate from the start.

My battery issue has much improved. I won't say it's as good as it was on Kit Kat, but it's significantly better than it was. Sunday (after the wipe, but before I had all my apps installed) I was at 54% battery life after about 8 hours off charger, light usage. Today (all apps are re-installed), after about 6 hours of being off charger, average usage for the day, I have 57% battery life left. That's a HUGE improvement over late last week.

I know it's a PITA to wipe/re-install but it's worth it IMO.

Now I am looking for some good backup software.

So I called a guy at Costco Wireless and he told me that power saving mode in battery settings saved his battery life.

WiFi calling? Do you mean calling via Hangouts?

What carrier? My G3 is T-Mobile and Lollipop 5.01
Battery life has never been better and no wi-fi problems. But I don't use wi-fi calling (not needed where I live).

I had poor battery life. I factory reset and restored from backup. Still had poor battery. I factory reset a second time, and manually loaded needed apps. Battery mucho improvo! Try that. It also took 3 days for it to calm down and be happy.

Battery on 5.01 (T-Mobile) is really great after a week of use. I have a shortcut to battery on my main page and was checking to see what apps were hogs. I disabled all of the LG media stuff that I don't need which was a hog, also Google+ photos was a major drain. Sadly K9 might be using too too much battery. It's taking 11% - same as Android OS. K9 now working much less drain. At the end of the day yesterday - 11PM I had 69% remaining - I'll take that! But note that I don't use apps for Facebook, twitter, etc and my needs are pretty minimal. Just email, browsing the web, Quickoffice, etc. Nothing heavy duty.
