Battery life

Since there's been a lot of talk about this, I thought I'd share a couple of battery charts from the past few days of use.

First up, a little under 14 hours to go from 100% to 15% with what I'd describe as pretty heavy use indoors and outdoors on Wifi, HSPA and LTE. That included a lot of browsing over LTE (with fairly weak signal), a few dozen still photos and a few of minutes of HD video recording.

Next, a day spent on mostly on Wifi with what I'd describe as normal use, with the exception of quite a bit of photo-taking. That got me from 100% to 33% in just over 18 hours.

So far I'm not experiencing any of the battery life issues some others are reporting. Battery life seems above average to me, and I don't experience any excessive battery drain during any particular tasks.

Just thought you might want to know. :) Charts are attached.

Interesting. Wonder why?

Awesomeness that the battery life is good. That is going to make many happy including myself.

Aliens.......wtf! Lol.

Yea, these results are quite a bit better then I expected and way over what I currently get with my iphone 4 during regular usage on wifi/3g during the day. Most of the time the battery lasts me about 10-12 hours off a full charge and I usually need to top it up a bit if I'm working late.

Interesting. Wonder why?
Irritating, isn't it? It's like that on the EVO now as well, since the JB update. I imagine all of the HTC devices w/ JB are like this now. But there has to be a way to get to it. Somehow.

It is _______ _______t.

this is great battery life, definitely more than a days worth of battery life. I get less battery life on my Galaxy s3 compared to this. so the battery life is an improvement.

This is encouraging to say the least. I eschewed the rumours in favour of real world experience like this, so thank you very much and I look forward to many more battery reports over the coming days/weeks.

Not to make you hassle yourself or anything, but could you maybe download a battery stats app that reports screen on time for you? Like Gsam maybe? I'd really be interested in what the screen on time is during your use.

I've got a question, this might sound stupid or irrelevant but does it make a difference if the device is on HSPA or CDMA as far as battery is concerned? Does one consume more battery than the other? And could someone explain why I hear two different opinions on whether Wifi or network uses more power? I read somewhere a while back that wifi was better but then a Verizon rep said that it drains the battery faster than 4G. I thought that she didn't know what she was talking about and dismissed it but then I read that same thing in another article recently.

What's the deal yo?

I find the battery a lot better than anything I've had (I've not had any new phone in past 2 years though) still over 50% atm came off charge 11 hours ago, on 3g most of day, downloaded apps, browsed web, watched videos, played games. Idle for a few hours.

It looks like the EVO, if you don't use gps and you stay on wifi you get good battery life. And then people get the phone and don't have wifi everywhere they are and use gps and wonder why they can't get a days worth of battery when others say it goes a day and a half. Just something to keep in mind...

Similar to the people who have no screen on time because they keep their phone in their pocket all day at work and then think everyone else gets crazy low battery life.
