Battery Life

For a while I was getting 24-36 hours of battery life out of my phone. Then all of a sudden it's been hitting 48+ hours on a charge. Not sure what I did (disabled more bloat/built-in apps maybe?), but I'm loving it. I also though my usage went down, which may be true, but to the point of doubling my battery life? That's crazy. What is everyone else experiencing?

Could be a variety of things such as disabled bloatware no longer taking up resources, less usage or even better network performance so the phone isn't working as hard trying to keep a signal.

I disabled a large amount of the bloat when I got mine and I've consistently gotten 48 hours on a charge with my phone. Sometimes (on a weekend when I'm not using it as much) I have gotten close to 72 hours.
Battery life has been sensational for me.

I have disabled some apps too. And I have always gotten exceptional battery life. Just curious though, which bloatware apps have you disabled?

Can you guys reply with what apps you disabled? I'm getting around 16 hours of battery right now, good for 95% of the time but with the numbers you guys are throwing out seems like I could be getting much more.

Couple things im not afraid to use my phone, what good is a phone if your not going to use it. Second in not scared to plug my phone in at night.

What does this have to do with what anyone has mentioned?

That's all well and good but when you want to go and use your phone you want it to have battery left. Therefore, you need to minimize idle power draw.

You figure that out by getting together in forums and talking about what is actually draining the battery.

Here's my disabled list:

Amazon
Appstore (Amazon)
Audible
Caller Name ID
DLNA
Google Play Books
Google Play Magazines
Google Play Movies & TV
Google Play Music (I use Amazon MP3 Player)
IMDb
LG Intelligent Agent
Life Square
Life Square Log Manager
Music
Music (there's two, the second one disables automatically after doing the first one)
Slacker
Slide Aside
Sync Service (VZW)
Text Link
Text Link Engine
The Little Princess
Verizon Location Agent
Verizon Mobile Security
Verizon Tones
Viewdini
VuTalk
VZ Navigator

This is a pretty conservative list. There's probably more that can be disabled, however I don't see a lot of them running all the time so I don't worry too much about them. Others like the Google* apps, I disable so I don't get notified about new versions & since I don't use them. HTH.

My battery life took a hit this week and I realized that streaming music, no matter how fun the Spotify and Google music trials were, was not for me. But I got it out of my system ;=)
I also had to set WiFi to not look to connect automatically. I was at work Saturday and the battery was very low after 12 hrs. I realized it was looking for Wifi. I own Ultimate Juice Defender from my DROID X and may run that. On the whole though, I find this phone excellent on battery.

Thanks I just back through and some of them for your list I thought I did already but they were running...

Just a quick question out of topic; on VZW, can you talk and use data at the same time with the G2?

That sucks :-(
I'm upgrading from my galaxy s3 soon, which I have no problem because I can do 3G while on a call and of course Lte too, but if the LG G2 can, only on LTE while a call, that's a deal braker.

This may be a dumb question, but how did you go about disabling the applications? I've gone into most of these bloatware applications and disabled notifications and things like that, but is there something else I can do to disable them? I still see the amazon app and Life Square and a number of other applications still running even with notifications and everything turned off.

Go to settings>applications >all applications > select the app you will see a button for disable

Alot of time your battery life gets better after the first week because your not playing with your phone as much. (Setting it up and discovering all it features, etc. + disabling all the apps you won't use)

What app did you use to disable some of those? I didn't see an option to do so with the stock phone? Thanks!
