In the last week I noticed that my Note 3 battery was not keeping a charge as long as I expected it.
Popped off the back and found this:

This is the battery label:

Promptly swapped my original Samsung battery back in!
(Actually I had forgotten that I swapped out the original battery.)
The Caseology battery lasted about 18 months.
The symptoms were - taking longer to charge, charge not lasting as long as it did at first, some heat from the case.
With newer phones not incorporating removable batteries I'd have been stuck.
Note 3 seems "spritely" again, and that's a good thing!

Yup, totally agree! My brother's Moto had an embedded battery. Same symptoms, wouldn't hold a charge worth the damn. He had it in a Defender case and didn't even know the battery was bulging until the screen separated from the phone! When he took the phone out of the case, both the screen and back of the phone was separated from the main body. It was his excuse to buy a Note 4!

I own a Note 4 too, and love the fact that I can visually check the battery during a swap. However, I also own a Note 10.1 2014 which unfortunately has an embedded battery. I'll have to keep an eye on it as it's battery life diminishes.
