I don't know if i am wrong, but i was lead to believe when the tablet is connected to the keyboard dock. the tablet will use the battery on the keyboard before the tablet. but when i open my tablet i notice the tablet battery is lower than the keyboard battery. is there a setting i can change to make it use the dock first?

Wish I could help you, but I'm still waiting on my dock. :-\ Good luck!

When you have it docked, the battery on the keyboard is supposed to "charge" the battery on the tablet. so in effect, the tablet battery will be used first.

yeah i think it charges the tablet in steps, so i doesn't ruin the battery. But i could be wrong.

oh i see, so its not "running" on the battery of the dock. but at what intervals does the dock start sending the charge?

if this is the case, can i put my tablet at 50% on a 100% dock and end up with a charged tablet without plugging it in? (sorry if that sounds confusing)

May I ask how is the dock? Is it everything it seems to be?

i love the dock, very useful for web browsing and answering emails. also the quick launch keys come in handy between switching from apps to web broswer is my favorite. but i do tend to use touch screen more often then using keypad

Here has been my experience. Both dock and tablet 100%, once my tab gets to around 70% the dock kicks in and starts charging and that seems to be the pattern for me. I haven't stuck a dead tablet on a charged dock yet, now you got me curious to see that.

good to know! let me know if you find out about the dead tablet

Better question is where did you get the dock?

Unless they changed the behavior dramatically this is all wrong. I came to this thread because I had a TF101 OG Transformer, and it never did this. The Transformer would ALWAYS charge the tablet from the dock, and the dock would always run down first. That way the tablet always had the most charge possible when pulling it from the dock. It did not matter what percentage either was at, the dock always ran down first, in every case. Now it possible they changed it, but I can't imagine why, since it worked so well. I am guessing its a firmware bug, they had several on the TF101, one bug had the dock running down when the unit was asleep, and they admitted certain docks could not be PUT in sleep mode. Replaced any of those under warranty if you sent them in. But the firmware willl change a LOT as they work out the new hardware in the tablet.

The dock is very close to the original TF101 dock, but I was worried cause its so much thinner, and only one USB, turns out I worried for nothing. It is superior in most things that count, incuding typing, after a short adjustment period It is a MUST HAVE for this tablet, I was waiting on the TF101 and a friend showed me his doc, let me try it. I ordered it THAT day, and never regretted it. Same here. Don't think about it all. Get it as fast as you can find one - they are scarce, but they will start showing up in the next few weeks in big numbers, I will bet. :D

This is directly from the ASUS download FAQ pdf on their website found here:

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Eee- ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201

Why isn't my Eee Pad fully charged by the mobile docking?
When your Eee Pad is docked and disconnected to a power adapter, the mobile docking only charges your Eee Pad battery up to 90% maximum to protect your battery and prolong its life. The mobile docking recharges once your Eee Pad battery power goes below 70%. The power adapter fully charges your Eee Pad battery to 100% and recharges when below 95%.

Why does my Eee Pad take longer to charge?
When your Eee Pad is docked, the power adapter charges both pad and dock, so it takes more time for your Eee Pad to charge.

I hope this helps... There is a user manual you can download from that webpage also. I don't even have my Prime yet, but ready to roll when it gets here! Good luck.
