battery plugged in 100 %, unplug charger 80 %

Samsung Fascinate on 2.3.1 (I think gingerbread). I've been on the OS for several months, this problem just started. I have 2 batteries, and 2 ways of charging .. I've tried all combos and same dilemma.

When phone is plugged into charger, after normal charge time I get the "fully charged 100 %" indication. I confirm battery is fully charged. The minute I unplug the charger, battery indicator suddenly plummets to 80 or 70, not always consistent but always significantly lower.

Same thing happens if I charge a different battery in a cradle thingy. Indicator says full, I put that battery in my phone and it indicates significantly lower.

Any solutions? Factory reset not an option.

Basically, it goes like this:

1. Charge your phone overnight to 100%
2. Power off the phone and let it charge to 100%
3. Power the phone back on and again charge to 100%
4. Power off, pull the battery and leave out for a minute (doesn't have to be exact), and re-insert.
5. Power on and see how it does.

Known GB Issue. You can also flash a custom kernel to help with the issue. I suggest the KGB kernel.
