Battery Pull seemed to help.

So yesterday I vented on here that since the OTA update my Tbolt kept having reboots and my battery life was horrible. Someone suggested a hard reset and battery pull. I didn't want to do the reset so I tried just the battery pull. Since I did that my battery is back to normal and I haven't had any reboots either. Thank you for the suggestion! :) :)

I did the battery pull the same day that I did the update .... my battery is still worse than what it was like before. I haven't had a single restart since the update, though.

hm...might have to try this.

battery life has suffered considerably (along w/ random reboots) since the update.

(side note: switched to 3g only, went 9am-11:30pm with 15% battery remaining...hate to lose the constant LTE functionality but 3g is still fast)

I did this as well after I had 2 random reboots the same day I applied the OTA update. For the first 24 hours following the battery pull -- no reboots! But then the very next day, I had 2 more random reboots.

I've never had a random reboot before the OTA update. I notice now that Android System is using close to 40% of my battery under battery usage - and my battery life on the extended battery is significantly lower (but still no problem making it through a full day). Before the OTA update though - I was getting 3+ days without a charge (put it on the charger at the end of the 3rd day with about 28% left) on the extended battery, now at the end of the 2nd day I am below 20%.

I really hope Verizon or HTC has a fix for this soon.

Oh, BTW- I should add that I have 4G turned off (Using CDMA Auto PRL) - and it still rebooted, so I don't think the issue is specific to being on 4G. Still could be radio related though...

Just did a battery pull. Here's hoping it helps because I just had two reboots in 15 minutes.

Thunderbolt HO!!!!

thunderbolt reboots

I called VZW after several days of rebooting. The lady said they had no known issues of this happening to anyone else. I just laughed. She had my to do a factory reset. I still wasn't satisfied so she is sending a Luke new device. But I have noticed since doing the factory reset it has not rebooted once. She also said she contacted HTC and they knew nothing of this problem. Something isn't right.

A battery pull didn't fix mine. And these random reboots are really killing my battery. I loved the phone before the update. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone right now until this gets fixed.

I wonder why some phones are rebooting randomely and otherers aren't. I did the update the morning it came out and have never had my Thunderbolt reboot before the update or after. Purchased the phone the morning of release date, 3/17.

My battery was atrocious for 2 days following the OTA, but last night I pulled the battery with the phone on and the problem has been solved. I pulled my phone off the charger at midnight and I still have 25% charge at 4:30pm (light usage). My battery is back to being spectacular and I can't begin to express how grateful I am that this worked.

Mine seems to be better after battery pull. I think the key is to pull the battery with it on not power it down then pull.

After the battery pull this morning, I haven't had a single reboot. Usually I would've had three or four by now.

I too had 3 reboots the first day after the update, but after someone mentioned doing a battery pull, I did that and haven't had a reboot since.
FYI, my understanding of a battery pull was just shutting the phone down, then pulling the battery to remove all residual power from the phone to clear any volatile memory. That's all I did.
