i just bought a new battery for my phone. before swapping it in should i fully charge the old one, or deplete the battery? or does it even matter?

also is it okay to leave it untouched or should i periodically swap it in? Thanks

I would fully charge the old one and then rotate back and forth every week or so.

The clain is that a Li-Ion battery should be stored at near 50% charge in a cool place. It will last for many years like that.
Me, I charge them to 100% and keep it handy in case I need it.
I just bought two 1500Mahr batteries AND a charger for about $8. While I doubt they are true 1500MaHr batteries, I'm not going to get carried away with caring for them.

but basically it doesn't matter...I flip flop two 2750 back and forth about every other day...leaver one in the charger......works fine
