Battery replaced = terrible battery life

Got my battery replaced in my S9+ at a reputable local repair shop as Samsung turnaround was too long to wait. My original battery had a faulty cell and would die at 37%, but other than that worked perfect.

After the battery was replaced, I let it fully discharge and repeatedly turned it on until it could no longer power up. Then charged it to full with the phone switched off.

Battery life was woeful, SOT max 1.5 hours.

So I repeated the process again of fully discharging it (until it could no longer turn on) to ensure the battery meter is calibrated properly. I also cleared the cache partition this time.

So, battery life is still terrible, requiring 2-3 charges a day for moderate phone use. Is this a faulty battery? I think maybe the battery was old and had a reduced capacity to begin with. I have replaced batteries before (both myself and via phone repair shops), never experienced this problem.

Is there anything else I can check? Pretty sure I covered all bases and the battery itself is faulty.
Running Android 10, Android Security Path level 1 Dec 2020.
