I pulled the case off the phone a few minutes ago and found the back was coming off. When I try pushing it closed, I noticed a bump in the middle. I am assuming the battery has swelled. I have not read anything about swelling batteries in the Galaxy s23u. Anyone heard anything? Too bad the warranty has expired.. Guess I will be using the s21 for a while.

Oh no! That looks scary. 😲

Do you have a local repair service or do you have to send it to Samsung?

I'm sorry this has happened to you.

I just got off the phone with a samsung authorized repair shop about an hour away. Most likely, I will take it there. Got a quote of 90 bucks to replace the battery. Hopefully that is all that will need to be done since the phone still works without any issue.

Did you use wired or wireless charging?

I had two LG phones that had batteries swelled. And I used wireless charging with them. I think wireless charging was suspect that those two batteries swelled.

Now I only use wired charging with my S23U.

I've used wireless charging without any issues since 2019.

I had the exact same situation with my S23 a few months ago. Luckily, I had purchased the Samsung+ insurance and the repair was covered by my local repair shop. They simply replaced the battery, which took about 1 hours to repair.
