Battery to low to turn on?

I'm turning on my LG Phone and putting the charger, but then it says "battery to low to turn on". How do I fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! Which LG phone? If it's a really old phone, there's more chance the battery has completely failed.

Welcome. Try leaving it on the charger overnight.

4 years old, so it's getting on in age. Another factor is how hard the battery has been used over its lifetime. If you've let it discharge deeply (like down to zero or close to it) on a regular basis, that can accelerate the battery's aging.
