My battery is suddenly lasting only half or less of what it was. I have a beloved Mophie. With original battery & mophie I would always get 2 full days of usage with no problem...sometimes more. I am not a huge phone user, just normal. Don't have large number of apps I use daily, just Sunrise calendar, Google email app (3 accts), Verizon VZNavigator gps app, Chrome, OverDrive as common frequent usage. I also try to have minimal processes running, and have killed or disabled all apps that this forum said were useless baggage that came with phone. My battery life is suddenly 50% of what it was. According to battery usage (tool came with phone) my largest battery consumer is my screen 60%. I do like a bright screen. I have screen lock @5min.

Wondering if 15 months is time to purchase new battery or should I look for some other issue?

1) If you've been discharging the battery almost all the way before charging it, 15 months is a huge gift - it should have started going bad in about 6 months (300 charges or so).

2) If you use the screen at full brightness it's going to be the largest power consumer. That's just how it is. The LEDS that light the screen use a lot of power.

3) 15 minutes timeout is WAY too long. 30 seconds is more normal. The screen will still stay lit while you're using the phone, but instead of wasting 15 minutes of screen time while you're in another room, it'll turn off after 30 seconds.

#1 is probably the biggest problem - your battery is probably at end of life. Look at Amazon.com: Anker® 2 x 2600mAh Li-ion Batteries for Samsung Galaxy S4, S IV, I9505, M919 (T-Mobile), I545 (Verizon), I337 (AT&T),L720 (Sprint), not NFC capable with Anker® Travel Charger, and 18-Month Warranty: Cell Phones & Accessories If the battery in the phone drops to 40% when you can't get to charge it, you can swap batteries. The charger will charge the battery in the phone and the one outside the phone at the same time.

http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Sams...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU4246631 is also good.

Thank u! Wow! I thought I should b running battery down. I routinely get to less than 10%, then flip on my Mophie. That used to b 2 days easily b4 I plugged it in to charge. I guess I got spoiled! :)

I have kids so when my screen goes off the phone locks. Otherwise my phone is just another electronic toy! I hate putting in my passwd so often so keep my phone on for 5 min max. (I had typo saying 15 min in orig post)

Thanks again!
