battery usage stats

When you go to settings, battery and then usage it shows what percent of what has used the battery. What are the x's for on right side. If you click them they go from black to like a greyish color. Any input is appreciated

I believe those Xs are for terminating individual tasks. You'd use that if you found that an app or task was using an extraordinary amount of battery power.
