Hi

i fully charged my droid incredible 2 and took it off the charge at 8:36pm
after just basically answering facebook comments, and face book chatting
and checking email on and off for 3 hours
the battery had already lost 6 out of 10 bars from 8:30pm to 12:30 am
should i get a replacement phone or is this normal?
thanks

new phone? if so, give it a few charge/discharge cycles. battery seems to get better with a few cycles.

could you explain what a charge/discharge cycle is?

thanks

Charge the phone, let the battery discharge thru use, then charge again. After a few cycles like this the battery will get better. I saw gradual improvements or the first week of having the phone.

someone told me when charging
to actually charge the phone for 5 hours straight
even though the battery will say its fully charged after 1 or 2 hours
and that this improves the battery's performance also...
does this seem correct?

thanks

I've never heard that before.

I bought a battery for my phone, an Innocell 1750mAh Slim Extended Life Battery. It is 300mAh bigger than stock battery, but fits in phone without adding thickness or having to get the deeper battery cover.
It seems to give me a few more hours under normal use.

Also, I use a simple free app called "battery widget" which allows you to easily see which programs or services are using up your battery, thus helping you to narrow down the culprit.

For what it's worth, on the new battery, the instructions said to charge it for a couple of hours more than when it says 100% charged, and to not expect optimum performance until several charge cycles.

I bought it @ seidioonline.com for $49.95. However I noticed Amazon has it for $40.79. Just search for the product code BASI17HTSHF at Amazon. It is the same battery as used in Evo shift & G2
