BBM for Android!

It has been confirmed twice that BBM will arrive to Android by the end of the summer but they never actually said a date when, so does anybody know when about BBM will arrive to Android???

Speculation is the end of summer as you said. September has been tossed around as a possible release date.

They have a closed Beta invite for BBM on Android. Will an apk work if someone leaks it?

Even if the APK leaks, it won't make a difference. In order for BBM to work period you have to have a Blackberry ID. Even if you already have one, youe ID/Email would need to be whitelisted by RIM in order for that beta program to show up in the BetaZone.
It's ALL based on your Blackberry ID/email. Sorry folks. Unless you get an official Beta invite you will be waiting until Sept for it in the Play Store. Anf from what I understand, it is indeed a CLOSED invite, aka employees of RIM and family...

FYI From an official Blackberry Spokesperson regarding the Closed Beta;

"BlackBerry has begun internal testing of BBM on Android and iOS devices. We invited our employees to nominate friends and family to participate in a limited Android beta. Those slots are now full."
