Is this BBM messenger on the play store the real deal? It says the company is blackberry limited. I didn't see an official announcement, or I missed it. I'll wait to download it for now

Is there a reason there's a little smiley face in the top left corner of the app that throws a spaz attack when I start the app? Its quite annoying.
