BBM vs Yahoo

First let me say that my work phone is a Blackberry. I love the keyboard & the Outlook integration. However, I cannot stand BBM! I want a messaging platform that I can use on any device. When I am not at work, I want to put my Blackberry in a drawer and forget about it.

So, I have been struggling to pry my Blackberry buddies off of BBM (especially my sister).

For me, Yahoo Messenger with the IMO.im client is the best alternative that I have found. You can send pictures, audio & video just like with BBM. You can have it always on just like with BBM. Even better, you can log off if you want. What do you think? I know there are a ton of current & former Blackberry users in this forum. So, how are you getting your BBM fix?
