Be careful around water

I've only had my watch back from doing a warranty repair for about 3 weeks. My band has broke and the cap fell off the lower button.

I washed my hands yesterday under an outside hydrant and now my watch won't cut on and when it does the screen is yellow and has lines through it. Seems the little o ring that seals under the sim card lid is stretched and allowed water to get in. This definitely wasn't anywhere near 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. It was 5 seconds of medium pressure water. I called LG and made a ticket to send it off and see if the warrantee will cover it. I put it in rice for the weekend but I'm afraid the damage is done.

I wonder if they caused the problem during the first repair. No way of knowing I'm sure. I've removed the back many times and used the watch in the rain/sweat during runs without issue (knock on wood). Hopefully they'll honor the warranty.

Only once since getting it back from repairs. Maybe 5 or 6 times all together when I was trying different sims when I bought it in April. Definitely wasn't done excessively.

I was kind of wondering that myself. I love this watch but I've been disappointed in its build quality. I used to shower with my og g watch. I even went swimming with it a couple of times once I moved up to the g watch r just to try it. Of course this watch has 3 buttons and a speaker so I've been extra cautious with it. It still has the plastic on it from when they sent it back from repairs.

Mine never in for repair.
I swam in mine in Mexico.
No issues at all. Of course you can't use the touch screen while you swim but that was it.

Mines at lg now but has been "under diagnosis" for about a week now. Hopefully I find out what's going on soon.

Ever since i had an issue with water getting my Sony Xperia 3 and killing it i grew weary of the
IP67 or 68 certification. I never swim or shower with my watch, i do however rinse it off after my workout sessions. So far, no issue but yes, be careful guys, splash and dust resistance is how I would rate IP67 but not more than that.

Well they're sending my watch back today as water unrepairable and our of warranty. This is bogus. I almost bought a pixel xl yesterday. Glad I didn't now. I want to buy another watch. My cracked screen g watch r isn't cutting it. I really want and second edition but I don't think I can put myself to do it after this!

Should I buy a Huawei or wait or for something else?

The Xperia line are IP68, where as the Urbane 2 is IP67. The difference being the rated depth, IP67 is <1m depth and IP68 is >1m. I used to take my Xperia Z1 swimming all the time but then the flap seals started to get loose, and I had to replace the battery so I doubt the back cover is properly sealed anymore.

Well the issue is I never submerged the watch. I guess in a way I cant blame them for not honoring their warranty. Its my word against theirs. For all they know I couldve jumped off the diving board and dove into X amount of water. I hurts when the reality of it is I washed my hands under an outdoor spicket after deworming a friends sheep that I really wanted nothing to do with the job and now I have a $400 with tax paper weight.

I should get it back today. Hoping maybe I can get around 100 dollars or a litle more out of it. That wont make purchasing a used one hurt so bad

I called Lg again and explained the situation to them and how I thought I was getting treated unfairly. I said under the circumstances I feel like the watch should've been replaced. They said to send it back again and they'll reevaluate it and will fix this one or replace it. We'll see.....

After two trips to the repair facility and countless phone calls to lg and to supervisor's my watch is being returned today unfixed again and they asked me not to send it back. I won another one on eBay last night for $210 which probably is the cheapest I've seen them to for. I've really missed having that big heavy lug on my wrist and my G watch R is getting tired, has tons of screen burn in and has a dead pixel.

I really feel burned by LG and will not be buying anything new from them in the future and will be replacing this one with the Google watch on day one.

That's the lowest one I've ever seen sold. It was actually 207 with $3 shipping. I definitely lucked out!

That is a good price. I have mine on swappa now for $245 with an extra charger and a dock so it's probably comparable if someone is looking. I actually wanted to keep mine but i didnt want to ruin it at work and i got tired of switching between my urbane 2 and gear s2 and the incompatibilities it creates so im just selling both and grabbed a Nixon Mission to serve both my needs. The Urbane 2 is definitely my favorite though.

I had talked to you about yours. I was on the fence about purchasing it. I just got married and had to pay off some new debts I "acquired" with my new bride so I'd been cautious of buying anything but I couldn't say no to $210!

I've had mine since last November. The amount of pouring rain, sweat and snow this watch had to endure is unreal, but it never stopped working on me, so hope this was a fluke and the next one will last you a long time. Mine just seems indestructible, really.
