Beast Mode

The question is: why?
As far as I know, the Galaxy is set to improve the performance when it is necessary. So, it saves battery when running light applications.
I don't know why anybody would leave the phone with maximum performance if there is no need. Full power to run Whatsapp? lol
When innovation is scarce, manufacturers begin to invent unnecessary functions.
I hope this "beast mode" is something more useful instead of just a "turbo boost" .

This feature is very unlikely and pretty useless to consumers. Aside from running benchmarks not a whole lot of value to forcing the chip to do things rather than letting it do its thing and having your programs optimized to take advantage.

I think the name Beast mode alone is what they're selling. Just that name makes it sound like it is bad ***. So i think even people who do not care will say wow beast mode i gotta have that. I am talking about your every day people not the ones on here.

Could this beast mode be of some benefit to VR gaming or applications ?

Don't know how taxing or spec demanding VR is on phones, but maybe some sort of software or processing boost would give an edge in the VR world with Samsung's newer VR units being developed. Maybe they want to get a leg up in VR over competitors somehow.

Probably not unless it is a 4k screen and they're using it to push aspects of that. It'd be unfortunate if they keep the gear only able to work with their firmware and fail to adopt daydream.

It would be funny if the beast mode underperforms compared to iphone 7 and other android phones. Performance mode on htc phones never really helped going from past experience. How is samsung going to do it is beyond me.
