You guys think there will be some sort of app for headphones like there is on HP computers?

Theres a recent rumor that the new HTC Vigor will be Beats-friendly, but not sure if there will be an app for existing Android users.

The Beats system is a specialized sound card/software combination. So to answer the question: No, there will likely not be some "app" like on HP computers, because the phone would also need a specialized sound card to accompany it.

Now the Vigor rumor has some interest... first Beats phone being the Vigor would be awesome!

For the longest I was wishing some kind of update or something would come that would allow me to use my Beats headphones as a stereo headset for the phone to work with my Thunderbolt. Unfortunately, it doesn't. Not even the volume up and volume down buttons on my headphones work with it. I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software thing, but now with this I hope it will work eventually. Or at least with the Vigor (if I switch).

Yea I hear Yah, I'm hoping they bring something to the table with this whole beats thing. BTW I love my studios

I think that the Beats headphone are nice if not overpriced. I got my studios as a gift and I freaking love them, but I would never pay that much for them (and yes I am a DJ and have used the Beats Pros and enjoy those too).

As for the soundcard / beats software I think that it is a gimmick. My HP (pavillion dv7) came with the beats software and eq and all those bells and whistles and I personally think it blew chunks. I am not an audiophile but I have standards. Even paired with the Studios it sounds like garbage, and the laptop speakers (with a sub built in the bottom) were terrible. I uninstalled the software and got plain old HD soundcard drivers.

The software/eq does not bring anything extra to the table, it basically acts as a compressor so if you jack up the bass it kills the treb and vise versa. Its even worse than WMP and their EQ / SRS crap. I don't expect to see this show up on any cells soon. Isn't Dolby branding on a couple already?
