I'm not rooted yet. I'll be doing that tonight. But I figured I'd look at what I wanted to put on it first. Can't find a lot of info on it. Guess what I really want to know is if there's any major problems with it at the moment? And info on flashing. Yes I'm a noob.

Didn't do this on my last phone cause I was happy with it. Came from a nexus s. The hardware is awesome on this phone. But I hate the all the unnecessary crap on this thing.
If you don't mind losing all of the added features that the gs3 has then go for it. I just find cm and aosp to be boring and slower on my phone. But many like it. Try all the roms and use what suits you best. I find absolutely no benefit to running cm or aosp on the gs3.
Hmmm see that's what I keep thinking. Any you would recommend? I'm just wanting jelly bean without all he bloatware.

There's also a touchwiz jb rom in xda. I'm using paranoid android jb best rom ever.

Plus 1 from me. You can disable most of the crap and there is so much memory, you'll never miss the space. Fast enough for me. Just wish I could tether to my Tab 2 without root. And btw, my Epic was rooted for 16 of the 20 months I owned it.

I guess my biggest gripe or complaint was touch wiz. I just couldn't get along with it. I had my nexus s for so long that I couldn't use anything else. I would have gotten the galaxy nexus but best buy only had this for me to exchange to.

Then load Nova Launcher. You don't have to load CM to get rid off touch wiz. I had the Nexus S4g and hated the stock android launcher.

Wasn't really happy with any of the launchers. I'm on paranoid android now and I dig it.

You can tether without root....just look for an app in the Play store called FoxFi. I've recommended to several friends who tell me that it works great, and its free!
I ran Paranoid for a while too and loved it until the sound went out and I stop getting my sms notifications. Went back to Wicked and am loving it right now.
Fox is not truely wifi tethering. Its bluetooth only with our phones..... worthless if your phone is your only Bluetooth device.

Just went the FoxFi page and support for us it "coming soon."
I hadn't tried it on mine yet, as no one I know has an unrooted SIII.

I just can't sit still when it comes to a rom, so I jump back and forth...
So far I've run Wicked, and right now I'm running FreeGS3...
I see there will be a 2.0 release tonight of the Paranoid so I'm going to wait until tomorrow before I try it...but I'd like to try a JB rom as well...doesn't look like Cm10 is going official in the near future, but I'll be glad when it does...looking forward to that.

Ktoonzes and task have been working on aokp jb for the s3, I'm running the latest release and haven't found any noticeable bugs thus far.

digging the center clock tweak. Also if you have all those buttons at the bottom (multitask, back, menu, home) then what the hell do you use for the hardware keys? Or you don't use those at all?
