Been using same battery since June 2013

In my S4 Active. Lot of charges, and am wondering when does the battery begin to lose its capacity? I am noticing it is taking a bit more time to charge up. (using oem charging devices)

Should I just give it a fond send off and buy a new oem battery?

I understand that if you care for a battery, it can last for many years. It may be worth taking a look at it....if it's swollen and can be spun on a flat surface, it's bad, and in danger of eventually bursting. Even if undistorted in shape though, it could be going bad.
