Being paranoid but I figured I'd ask...

Well, someone asked about the screen being loose in one of the edges, and luckily for me, I'm not a victim of that. However, under close scrutination of my phone, I discovered that there is a 1mm or so give on the top left of battery cover. It doesn't creak or anything and shouldn't bother anyone, but I figured I'd ask around to see if anyone else has this.

The EVO I have is the same. I think it's from removing the battery cover a few times. I'm assuming the clips are getting weaker each time I pull the back off. As we all know it doesn't really come off easy/smooth.

Try not to pry the battery cover open. Just get it from the little opening and slowly uncover the edges as you go around the phone.

I personally don't have that problem.

i pull my battery cover off once a day or so, and dont have this issue.

I charge spare batteries and swap them instead of charging the phone.

i have never taken the battery cover off because it's such a bitch! upon unboxing i installed battery and cover and that was it!

I have the same issue and it's bugging me a little bit. Actually, I'm not too pleased with the fit of the back battery cover along the entire left side (if looking at the phone from the front). But yes, it seems worst at the upper left near the 3.5mm headphone jack. The right side of the back cover fits great (i.e. no give, flush with the adjoining surface). When I noticed this on my phone the only time the cover was removed was for initial battery installation, so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

I've been trying to figure out the source of the problem... like if it's an issue with the cover or with the mating features on the device. Anyone have any thoughts?

(btw this is a minor issue for me but one that's nagging at me a bit)

I learned to be quite paranoid about little things as these after owning the Palm Pre. Have you tried taking the cover off and slightly bending it with your hands to get it snugger? I'll try it and let you know what comes of it. It doesn't bother me enough to get a replacement. Especially since I'll probably get the extended, thicker battery in the near-future anyways.
