Benchmark

I ran a quadrant benchmark on the Skyrocket today and it hit 3100. Not bad. My SGS2 hit 3600+ at the same time. I still might get the SR for the screen and upcoming LTE. Debating ......

Well here you go. I just got my S2 2 days ago. They say it matches the Exynos, i still have a hard time believing it.

Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket benchmark tests

Samsung Galaxy S II Benchmarks [T-Mobile vs AT&T] | Android Community

This is a different site comparing the ATT Galaxy S2 and the T-mobile version. The Tmo version uses the same setup as the Skyrocket, correct? The benchmarks actually have the T-Mo slightly faster.
Still would rather an Exynos v Snapdragon, but it at least seems within range.

I was pleased with my ATT Galaxy SII, but happy I took it back to get the Skyrocket.

Had more time with the SR today and ran a ton of quadrant tests on it and my SGS2. The SR was hitting 3900 a lot while the GS was maxing at 3700. I even hit 4096 on the SR. Take that for what its worth.

Im only getting around 2400 on quadrant. Ive seen the vids and you confirmed an over 3000 score. Whats up i wonder with mine

3184 on my fresh stock. No far off the stock SG2 so once we can Root and add rom's we can get 5k...

If you reboot. Give it a few minutes, clear the memory, then run quadrant. Then don't close it and run it again. Do it a few times and it will hit 3500.

Quadrant test #1 = 3500+
Quadrant test #2 = 3800+? I am pretty sure this is what it read but I didn't use my glasses this time.
Quadrant test #3 = 3000+

What does you guys think. This is my first Samsung smartphone, so I don't know how Samsung does things. My guess would be Samsung knowing ICS is right around the corner released the phone not fully optimized. They probably ran out of time and due to at&t wanting it out before Christmas released it not fully optimized. The figure that since ICS is out in January/Feb, so just fix it then.

Semi Rant-

I do not understand why all the attention to benchmarks? I had the SGSII for three weeks and it hit 3500 on quadrant. Yep, a zippy phone. I bought a Motorola Atrix 2 off contract to wait for the LTE or ICS and it hits 2200-2400 on Quadrant. Yep, a zippy phone. Practically speaking I see no difference in the speed when I am using either. I laugh when I see video of people switch the home screens quickly and go the the app drawer to see the apps roll and say ohhh snappy! lol!

I have not even done a benchmark on the SR because I loaded Launcher pro, set my screens up and it is plenty fast for me. I do not see this lag people speak of. Maybe I cannot notice it but it seems like hype to me. I do appreciate others doing them to confirm what I knew...The SR is a snappy phone!

It reminds me of standing in a audio store and watching people turn the volume up really high to test the receiver or amp like it is not going to be loud enough or that is tied to quality? lol

I have watched video that I have shot, netflix etc and they are all fine on the SR.

All right off the soap box! I really am enjoying this phone! It is Snappy lol!
