So I was blessed to the thread some time ago about Bernacle. I downloaded it and LOVED IT. It was perfect and everything I was hoping for, in those keys situations

Now it suddenly will not work. It keeps saying it needs "su access" but I am rooted and have superuser access.

Any ideas why it is doing this?

Click on your Superuser icon in your app drawer and see if it's still in the list. Select it and choose allow. If you don't have the option choose forget, then launch the app again. It should give you the popup to allow just like the first time you installed it.

Are you saying that your Superuser icon is missing? If so, it would appear you have somehow lost your Root access.

I'm understanding it that he has his Superuser app, but it's not showing Bernacle in it. If this is the case and you're not getting a popup to allow Superuser access when you try to use Bernacle, I'd trying fixing permissions in CWM if you have it, or just reinstalling the app. For some reason it's not actually asking for the root permissions it needs.

Killa, you know what just what I'm talking about. I'm not sure what CWM is and I've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling a couple times so..

Mind explaining CWM real quick?

clockword mod. the absolute must have if you do any kinda rooting. you can install it through rom manager. its how you make back ups of your system, restore your system when you screw up your phone. cwm should have been one of the very first things you put on your phone. if you followed the instructions on the sticky it was one of the steps.

I wouldn't say its for "Everyone", it does involve using Odin and messing around at a lower level than just rooting so technically your capacity to brick your phone goes up a notch when getting into CWM. If you are doing ROMs or kernels it is a must, if you are just rooting to get tethering then you could pass on it if you wanted to.

If it is the app with a black top hat (ROM Manager) I have it

I do know nothing about it though, so beyond that I wouldn't know how to use Clock Work Mod to fix my problem.

Could you explain?

CWM is something installed at the kernel level, it's not an app that shows up in your drawer (the tophat app is Rom Manager.) Have you tried removing Barnacle and reinstalling it? Maybe it got goofed up with the recent updates they pushed out for it.

ROM Manager is an app developed by Clockwork Mod. CWM is the common reference to Clockwork Mod Recovery. It's the first option in ROM Manger to flash it if you don't already have it. With it installed, you can do further operations like backup, restore, install zips like ROMs and patches, fix app permissions, etc., all from the recovery mode of the phone.

If you boot into CWM Recovery, go to "advanced" and theres an option that is just a general "fix permissions." It's been known to clear up quirky issues like this and force closes.

I keep pressing the '"boot into recovery option" then it asks me if I'm sure I want to, so I press okay and nothing happens

Check your SD card for a file named update.zip. If it's there, try going into recovery mode by turning your phone off, then powering it back on by holding volume up + down + power until you see the Samsung logo on the screen. From there, choose apply update.zip, which will launch CWM Recovery. To navigate in the phones recovery mode, you use the volume rocker to move up/down. Make selections in the blue recovery screen by pressing the home key, make them in the green one (CWM) by pressing the power button. If you don't have the update.zip file, I've attached one below that you can just copy over.

I really appreciate all of the help. The file wasn't on my card so I downloaded youra and moved it to the main sd folder. When I rebooted I chose the option and after it prepared the file it came up with the error "unable to locate whole file, download aborted"

Ever come across that?

I apologize, it said "verify" not "locate" and after whole file was "signature"
So once it hit the verifying stage it gave me the error. Started well lol
