Best 2.1 ROM?

what is the best 2.1 ROM? i want the most stable release possible that gets the good battery life. If possible i want the ROM to be 100% stock, like the nexus one if possible.

btw im new to all this rooting and ROM's stufff.

So when you say stock you mean AOSP (Android Open Source Project), and not what comes with the phone. I don't use the AOSP ROMs, so I can't comment. I just wanted to clarify your point.

I believe Darchdroid v2.7 is spoken of highly.
