I just got a Lenovo IdeaTab Pro. This is new to me using a SKIN created by Lenovo to work on top of the Android OS.
My understaind is that Lenovo does major and aggressive reworking which can add to some glitches and bugs. I have one already. My Chrome browser opens for 2,3 secs with a black screen until it can fully display. Some driver conflict between Google and Lenovo's renovations????
Anyway, I want to learn as much as possible about what I have , what to expect, how to troubleshoot, and find solutions.
That is my reason to be here.
BTW. The Lenovo LUI OS just updated to 17.0.04.088 running on the Android 15 architecture.
So, if you are a Lenovo user or not have good info for a new Lenovo user, feel free to share it. I mean anything other than send it back while you can. : ).
The Chrome black screen when opening is the only glitch I have seen so far. Where and how should I report it?
Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Introductions forum to the Lenovo Android Tablets forum, for more specific traffic.
Lenovo's launcher is actually fairly light in terms of modifications, from my experience (I have a Tab M9), so it's probably not related to that. Have you already tried clearing the app cache and data for Chrome in Settings>Apps, then Force Stopping it, and then opening again?
Also, see if the problem persists in Safe Mode: https://www.hardreset.info/devices/lenovo/lenovo-idea-tab-pro/safe-mode/

Yes. I did clear cache. I was going to do a clear storage but before I did , I decided to download the beta version to see if the as yet newer version did not have the black screen. It did. So, if not eliminated in the beta version which should include some patches and fixes, I decided not to clear storage as I thought it was not going to fix the problem.
I have already downloaded edge and think I will switch. The must be a driver glitch between android 14/15 and the Lenovo skin that they have not resolved.
However, I really don't mind the 2sec delay (or 3) while the app loads and resolves for proper display unless this portends other problems.larger problems.
So, for now, I will tolerate it to have access to Google productivity suite and/or use edge.

However, I am up for any additional info about using the tablet: tweaks/hacks/shortcuts/ developer tweaks. Et. etc.

Thanks

Clearing the app data in Chrome is not a big deal, since your important data and settings will resync immediately.

Also, did you try Safe Mode as I had previously suggested as well?

Yeah. Cleared Cache. Cleared storage. Tried the new Beta version which also did the the black screen thing. BTW. I think the black screen upon start up is only in Tablet mode and not in the PC mode. And, remember this black screen is just within the Chrome app when it is started. It lasts maybe 2 sec.
I have not tried safe mode. I will give it a try though since it was even doing it with the Beta version, I don't think safe mode is going to help.
Now, it could be hardware acceleration or some other thing needs to be turned off or on.
Keep on letting me know. I am just going to live with it for a while. I do not think it is system problem just a glitch that Lenovo needs to fix..
Thanks.

Also try uninstalling the chrome update might be a bug in the current one and see if previous version works just don't let play store update it automatically so u can test it .
