Best 4g smartphone?

The upcoming phones will make you crazy jumping back and Forth and some people are just plain inpatient. I want the Bionic/Targa and it will most likely be my next phone. But the GS2 is looking pretty good. There are 2 things that turn me off about it That is the slow to update and it might not be 4g phone. That Aside the Bionic/Targa is looking to be a good phone from the rumors. I am just praying that it keeps it's 4.3" size. Speculation is that they might make it 4" to fit the Atrix docking station. I am just hoping that it is not true.

I'm also waiting for the Bionic/Targa. I'm rockin a Droid 2, so anything larger than 3.7" is cool by me lol.

I'm starting to question this round of LTE phones. Too many problems. I MAY pass up LTE and wait until next year when they get it right.

Don't know....just thinking outloud.

Careful about thinking out loud. ;)

The first round is definitely causing me to really consider other options. The biggest driver for me in getting an LTE versus non-LTE phone is to try and get in before tiered data and hopefully be grandfathered in. I'm not in an LTE area, and not planned for this year. So, I won't be able to use it on a daily basis. But, unfortunately, we've heard nothing but issues with LTE phones so far. And that's a problem.

My wife needs a new phone and we're going to seriously consider the Inc. 2. If she does get that, it may give me an opportunity to really check out that phone and maybe give me something to tie me over until better LTE phones come along.

One of the many rumors about the Bionic is that it will include a new and different LTE radio. Trying to recall exactly where I saw that...

Hoping that if this is indeed true that it'll help the phone be more solid/stable than what we've seen thus far. You're right CK, most of the LTE stuff is still quite new and bugs are still being ironed out on all ends (recalls VZW's downtime last week).

I still plan to get it. Hoping the best, but in the past I've endured some pretty horrid phones from Moto (T720, KRZR).

Ok, not to be an ass, but all these people that come on here talking about the GSII are complete morons. Have you just heard of the phone now? Anyone talking about Verizon and the GSII have not done their research on this phone, as it is currently only HSPA+ and GSM compatible. That means NO VERIZON.

I'm sure they could eventually have other iterations with the appropriate compatibility, similar to the iPhone coming to Verizon, but I would currently not consider it an option. Verizon has made no announcement regarding it, nor has Samsung. I would expect that should the GSII come out for Verizon at some point, it will definitely not be 2011. Please remove your heads from your asses, I'm tired of people saying how the GSII is an option. With Verizon, it currently is NOT.

Sorry :(

I think what is going on is that people are hoping that Verizon will get a form of GS2 Just like what they did with the Galaxy S.. All Carriers had a form of it. Again it is just Speculation!!! Or maybe they will leave Verizon for AT&T and T mobile for it. Now lets get back on subject!!! The Bionic/Targa!!!

Oh good, you edited the end of your post lol I was confused. Yeah, I'm just getting impatient, I want to wait long enough for the Bionic/Targa, but I'm getting more annoyed of my Storm 2 every day that I'm even anticipating the finalization of the Droid Charge since stores already have it. I might be willing to eventually pick up the Bionic/Targa at full retail, though I should probably wait for some more official information before doing anything. I'm hoping the Bionic/Targa is the best LTE phone at least up until Q1 2012.

I am so tired of waiting for Moto or Verizon to drop some type of information about the Bionic... If they would just give me something to see if its worth waiting for, Do I like the design, anything it would help me make up my mind.

I'm very much considering by the TB at this point. May wait until the Charge is released and see how it compares...

Just absolutely fed up with Moto and Vzw over the Bionic Saga.

That's the big downside to hanging out in the forums. They do absolutely nothing to slake our thirst for the latest/greatest instead we see infinite commercials for bottled water and how good it will be.

Meanwhile the uninformed has already bought their iPhone 4's and are (hopefully) happy campers.

I agree, and I've been with my Storm 2 for a while, so it makes me even more impatient. Right now my only options are Charge or wait for Bionic/Targa, the TB has such bad battery life that I have no interest in it regardless of how great the phone is battery issues aside.

Seeing that the Bionic is more than likely getting webtop bloat I have unofficially resigned my post. When its confirmed I will make it official.

Verizon's Galaxy SII looks to be my next purchase.

I have played with the TB a lot, my buddy has one and he doesn't seem to have much of a problem with Battery life. They released an update yesterday or today for the TB that might make Battery life even better. I'm just torn atm because I want a dual core phone, but I want a LTE phone.... Obviously with Verizon you can't have both right now.... and I am therefore stuck with this question: 4G LTE Single Core, or 3G Dual Core????? That is the question.

By the time Bionic is released, CES 2012 is around the corner.

There goes the negative talk again. Man you guys are something else. Stay positive!!!. I believe we will see the Bionic/Targa by early or late August!!! That is what I am holding on to.. Anytime past the summer will be a failure on Motorola end!!! I rather they fix the problems before releasing it not rushing the phone out because people are inpatient.. It will come out when it is ready. I am using a Storm1 and I am waiting patiently... If they rush it out the same guys wanting the phone because of their inpatients will be on the forum complaining about all the problems they are having with the phone... If you are inpatient just get the TB or the Charge but just stop complaining about the wait!! What is complaining going to do it will not change a thing.

You know that could be a while from now and it possibly won't have LTE capabilities right?

Well aware...LTE has lost its lustre for me and waiting 3-4 months for a stellar piece of hardware is not a big deal.

That's probably true considering you have a Droid. I'm still with a Storm 2, limited capabilities, no apps (essentially), slow everything, and an outdated OS. If I had a Droid I could see myself waiting as well. Best of luck, sir.

Thats what ive been saying for the past month.

Throw a 3G antenna into Bionic and release it already.

I rather have 3G bionic with original Specs, than wait 4 months for 4G Targa, with rumored Targa specs.

Maybe the Storm 2 gave me bad 3G experiences, because I can't wait to move to LTE.

I am using a Storm2 (actually mine works great, except slow browsing, of course), so if you can wait, I guess I can wait! :'(
I also agree that Moto will have it out by July-August after the first fiasco of a non-launch!
