Hey folks,

Looking for a good Android equivalent of Apple's Notes app that can handle data transfer.

I'm switching from iOS to a Pixel 9a and need to migrate 10+ years of Notes data. Apple Notes handles plain text, rich formatting, checklists, tags, images and file attachments - it's central to my workflow.

The Pixel imported my Notes into Keep, but stripped out all formatting, dates, folders, tags, images, attachments and pinned items. I'm left with just plain text items (many now totally empty) in a random order. This is of no use whatsoever.

What I need:

Rich text formatting support

Organization features (folders/tags)

Ability to import/recreate my Notes structure

Can handle images and can lock items

Free preferred, but open to paid options

Has anyone successfully migrated from Notes to an Android app? What worked best?

Thanks in advance!

You could create a folder in Drive labeled 'Notes'. Within that folder, your notes pages can be a Google Docs file. You can make folders within the Notes folder (I don't think Docs does tags, but to be fair, I don't use tags in any application). Docs can handle images; I'm just not sure how easy it is to do so on mobile. Locking is not possible.

I think overall, the one requirement that you may have to give up is the import/recreate Notes structure. I'm not aware of any file or format from Apple that can be used outside the Apple ecosystem.
