Hey guys, just bought this tablet a couple of days ago, its my first android device and I'm liking it so far.

One reason I bought it was for reading, but after doing some research I'm not sure where I should buy them from. What would you guys recommend? Going by pricing alone, it seems like the Kindle app has some of the books I want a little cheaper than on google books, so that is a plus.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I believe the Kindle is the best. I say unfortunately because:

*I don't like the copy protection for Kindle books.

*And I don't like the fact that it is difficult, and sometimes impossible, to search for, say, the name of a forgotten character who hasn't been mentioned for the last 200 pages.

*And I don't like that I can't save excerpts from a book to store in, say, my documents folder, and refer to when the book is no longer on my phone.

*And I don't like that I can't list particular books outside of the Kindle app. That is, Kindle doesn't allow shortcuts to each separate book you've purchased. That way, if I am currently reading, say, the novel The Woman Who Died Too Much, but, have to consult say, Schaum's Dictionary of Chinese Grammar, I would just switch to my Homescreen, tap on the Schaum's shortcut icon, voil?! there would be 有沒有. Now, I have to tap on the Kindle icon on my Homescreen, wait for my list of already purchased Kindle books to come up, then click on the book, and wait for it to open inside the Kindle app to the last page I read.

*And I don't like that I can't specify where on my phone the books are stored unless I root my phone.

HOWEVER, I truly believe that Amazon has the largest selection of e-books, at least in the United States. And that is important enough to me to keep me as a loyal customer.

FWIW.

Thanks for the responses guys. One more question, say I buy an ebook from the Kindle app, am I able to take that book/file and use it with another ereader app? Or is it only linked to the kindle app?

You can read Kindle e-books only on a Kindle or with a Kindle app. As far as I know, their copy - protection is very difficult to break, and, if it is broken, it is patched very quickly.

So I assume the copy protection is similar with all of the different ebook stores?

I don't know that. I gave up on everything except Kindle a while ago, so my experience with other reader formats is old.
