I'm probably going to have to get a replacement for my Note 4 and need to back up with the most thorough back-up solution I can find since I have done a lot of customizing on my phone. The Samsung back-up does not work well which I learned when doing a factory reset. Any suggestions for backing up that will get me as close as possible to what I have now if my new phone comes in?

Samsung Kies from your pc..couple different options from the play store too, i always stuck with my backup pro. This is of course is for non-rooted phones.

What, specifically, do you need to make sure you backup?
If you sync your Google account with the play store, your apps stay in your account. Files, photos, videos, music should already be on your SD card.
What device level info are you trying to retain?

I have the same question about backing up.
My answer to what I want backed up is that I have no idea. That's the point/problem. I need to do a factory reset but don't have any idea how much I'll lose in the process. What all do I need to make sure is backed up and what's the easiest way to do it?
