I have seen ad for $300 off Note 8 for black Friday. Does anyone know if this has to be a new line or can it be an upgrade?

You may be correct, but I got $250 off mine at Best Buy a few weeks ago and it was not a new line.

Sorry let me clarify. I meant to say the $300 discount will be bill credit on your installment. Doesn't have to be a new line. Is that what you got?

It is a bill credit. I think that part is the same regardless of it being a new line or not. I'm not positive about that though. It's been a while since I've added a line.
